[10:24]<@jacky> BC_programming: if you are around, live, say something
[10:24]<@jacky> :)
[10:30]<@BC_programming> something
[10:33]<@jacky> Howdy
[10:33]<@jacky> just came across something interesting
[10:33]<@BC_programming> ok
[10:33]<@jacky> ever seen a youtube that can cause a bsod?
[10:33]<@BC_programming> no
[10:34]<@jacky> first time I hit it, I got a little pop up balloon... said something about video had recovered from something or other
[10:34]<@jacky> so.. I hit it again
[10:34]<@jacky> bsod
[10:34]<@jacky> here... see if it plays for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0esrLIMc6SU
[10:34]<@jacky> should be Stones. Old song
[10:34]<@BC_programming> yeah plays fine
[10:35]<@jacky> maybe something with my video driver?
[10:35]<@jacky> mine is built in mb. amd, I believe
[10:35]<@BC_programming> yeah... better hope it was just a one-off thing :/
[10:35]<@jacky> meaning... ?
[10:36]<@BC_programming> an abberant error caused by something like a brownout or something or a voltage spike
[10:36]<@jacky> oh
[10:36]<@jacky> it did it twice, on that video
[10:36]<@BC_programming> oh
[10:36]<@jacky> I'm thinking it is something with that video
[10:36]<@jacky> weird, huh?
[10:37]<@BC_programming> it's a problem with your driver/video card. the video just has something that triggers it more frequently is all
[10:37]<@jacky> and THAT, I hope is a "one off" thing
[10:37]<@jacky> in other words
[10:37]<@jacky> that whatever it is, is something I don't find very often
[10:37]<@jacky> :)
[10:37]<@BC_programming> well that's good I suppose
[10:37]<@jacky> yep
[10:38]<@jacky> I hadn't had a blue screen in ages... so long that I can't remember
[10:38]<@jacky> oh well
[10:38]<@jacky> just thought I'd run it by you
[10:38]<@jacky> in your travels, if you hear of anything like it again, let me know
[10:38]<@jacky> interesting.....
[10:38]<@BC_programming> I get them every few months myself, usually from my sound driver
[10:38]<@jacky> ( If I click that video again, 3 months from now, and report it to you again... remind me of this conversation. heheeheh )
[10:39]<@BC_programming> heh... ok
[10:39]<@jacky> how can you tell it is your sound driver?
[10:39]<@BC_programming> two things, first, it doesn't happen right away, the sound starts going funky and weird and random volumes and noise and stuff
[10:39]<@jacky> ok
[10:39]<@BC_programming> if I don't reboot and keep doing stuff, I get a Blue screen in my sound driver- the file is stated on the BSOD screen
[10:40]<@jacky> ah
[10:40]<@jacky> are you playing country music?
[10:40]<@jacky> that could do it
[10:40]<@jacky> <g>
[10:40]<@BC_programming> heh
[10:40]<@BC_programming> it only triggers rarely when I start FLStudio, and usually after quite a bit of uptime
[10:41]<@jacky> some sort of sound editing software?
[10:41]<@BC_programming> yep, sound composing thing
[10:41]<@jacky> ok
[10:41]<@BC_programming> seems to be when I open that and a lot of other apps are using the sound card
[10:41]<@jacky> computer internal burp
[10:42]<@BC_programming> if it ever got really bad I could always just not use the sound card and instead use my motherboard audio
[10:42]<@jacky> it works ok, with same circumstances?
[10:42]<@BC_programming> well I don't know, just a guess
[10:43]<@jacky> ah
[10:43]<@jacky> interesting stuff...
[10:43]<@BC_programming> about 90% of the time it works fine anyway, it's just very rarely some sort of race condition causes the driver to go funky
[10:44]<@jacky> if you think about it... with the billions of signals flying around in there.... it is pretty amazing that 2+2=5 doesn't happen more often
[10:44]<@BC_programming> heh

[11:54]<Tux2> morning bc
[11:54]<@BC_programming> hullo tux2
[11:54]<@BC_programming> that was some fun with scorch3d, :D
[11:55]<Tux2> Yup. :D
[11:56]<Tux2> lol, love what you did with the name
[11:56]<@BC_programming> that was an accident... heh. should have been scorched3d
[11:57]<@BC_programming> actually that would be a good name for it- scorch3d earth
[11:57]<Tux2> lol, yeah
[11:59]<Tux2> I still don't know why devil_boy hadn't heard about it until I told him about it last night!
[11:59]<@BC_programming> haha
[11:59]<@BC_programming> I already had it installed, hehe
[12:00]<@BC_programming> some time ago I played the original again and wondered if anybody had created a "updated" version of it in some way; scorched3D was what I found
[12:00]<Tux2> lol, it was one of those games I played on our old windows ME computer... it could hardly run it...
[12:01]<Tux2> I think it played at like 5 fps
[12:01]<@BC_programming> haha
[12:03]<Tux2> That was waaayyyy back though, scorched 3d has come sooo far since then...
[12:03]<Tux2> AND I have a computer that gets a decent framerate on it
[12:21]<Tux2> (despite that I have to have a cooling pad under my laptop in order to play it...
[12:22]<@BC_programming> yeah, lol
[12:24]<@BC_programming> now I'm trying to deal with a unexpected issue while trying to add that combo idea to baseblock
[12:24]<@BC_programming> I want it to basically count up all the "chain reactions" and then after those are done, show the "combo" and issue the appropriate score
[12:25]<@BC_programming> so I figured I would have a delay, and then when the delay runs out it would go with the combo count I stored in the gamestate, and reset it
[12:25]<Tux2> hmm...
[12:26]<@BC_programming> but there is a problem since the explosion I create is a gameobject, and when it destroys a block, it calls that blocks PerformBlockHit(), but in the case of another exploding block, that method will add another explosion, but that causes an exception in the main game loop since at that time it is enumerating all the game objects
[12:26]<Tux2> ah...
[12:27]<@BC_programming> normally the PerformBlockHit() would only be called while the gameloop is enumerating balls, so I assumed the gameObjects list was safe to add to
[12:27]<@BC_programming> now I'm going to have to do something funky
[12:27]<Tux2> lol, threading exceptions... I love those
[12:27]<@BC_programming> well not really a threading issue, more a problem of ill-founded assumptions/preconditions
[12:27]<Tux2> lol
[12:29]<@BC_programming> oooooh
[12:30]<@BC_programming> haha... seems I already accounted for this possiblity, I'm <supposed> to add any gameobjects I want to add to a ref parameter...
[12:30]<Tux2> lol @ http://tpc.dyndns.tv/index.php
[12:30]<@BC_programming> bahaha
[12:33]<@BC_programming> curses... the ref parameter is only given to the GameObject, and ExplosionEffect isn't able to force any gameobjects that the Block PerformBlockHit() routine adds
[12:33]<@BC_programming> or it wasn't... I just temporarily replaced the gamestate's list of GameObjects with a new object and then swap it back after.
[12:33]<@BC_programming> heheh
[12:34]<@jacky> see you later....
[12:35]<Tux2> lol...
[12:35]<@jacky> ?
[12:35]<@jacky> Tux2: talking to me?
[12:35]<Tux2> oh, no, I wasn't... see you later jacky
[12:35]<@jacky> ok
[12:35]<@jacky> heh
[12:35]<@jacky> see you later
[12:35] * jacky (the_kink@mib-95747384.slsbmd.east.verizon.net) has left #glitchpc
[12:35]<@BC_programming> I suspect my "solution" will cause more problems than it solves though
[12:38]<@BC_programming> holy crap
[12:38]<@BC_programming> it works perfectly
[12:38]<@BC_programming> I'm a genius
[12:38]<Tux2> :D
[12:38]<@BC_programming> well the combos are still broken but the explosions are smoother because they aren't constantly throwing exceptions and resetting the main game loop
[12:39]<@BC_programming> that was still a rather hacky fix but hey whatever works
[12:40]<Tux2> ;)
[12:42]<@BC_programming> I already ripped the sounds, once this works it should sound hilarious
[12:47]<@BC_programming> ugh
[12:47]<@BC_programming> I derped
[12:47]<@BC_programming> figured out why the combos weren't working... I had it in the case for the level intro rather than when the game was running, lol
[12:48]<Tux2> lol...
[12:48]<@BC_programming> I had a breakpoint on it and was all "WTF why isn't it being hit evar"
[12:49]<@BC_programming> then saw it was inside the while (gamerunstate == gameRunStateConstants.Game_LevelIntro) {} block... and facepalmed
[12:49]<@BC_programming> or facehoofed if one prefers
[12:50]<Tux2> lol...
[12:51]<@BC_programming> haha... it works now, hilarious
[12:51]<Tux2> :D

[13:14]<+pottsi> hey
[13:14]<+camerongray> Stupid phone has decided that it doesn't want new contacts :P
[13:15]<+camerongray> Put it in -> Press Done and it doesn;t appear in the list
[13:15]<+camerongray> So now I've had to sync all my facebook friends so my contacts list is massive
[13:16]<@BC_programming> this is probably the most hilarious thing I have ever done
[13:16]<@BC_programming> definitely needs a video
[13:17]<+camerongray> My imagination is imagining
[13:17]<@BC_programming> well a !rerun would give you some idea probably
[13:17]<+camerongray> make a list of possible answers
[13:18]<+camerongray> You taped the cat to the dog?
[13:18]<+camerongray> You ate cat food and threw up?
[13:18]<@BC_programming> no
[13:18]<@BC_programming> but you're close
[13:18]<@BC_programming> well not realy no
[13:18]<+camerongray> You decided to go down the stairs in a shopping trolley?
[13:19]<+camerongray> You covered the outside of your house in pony pictures?
[13:19]<+camerongray> Now that would be funny
[13:19]<Tux2> shopping trolley? Is that what you guys call shopping carts out there camerongray?
[13:19]<+camerongray> Yeh
[13:20]<+camerongray> But the US ones are better - Ours have all 4 wheels turning so they always go out of control
[13:20] * +camerongray remembers the incident in Tesco with the toilet rolls
[13:21]<Tux2> lol camerongray...
[13:21]<+camerongray> And you have massive supermarkets
[13:21]<Tux2> Our neighbor went down our street (it was a hill) in a shopping cart... he didn't do it again...
[13:21]<+camerongray> HAHAHA
[13:22]<+camerongray> Oh - Someone in my computing class has turned into a MLP fan
[13:22]<Tux2> Yeah, the cart flipped at the bottom...
[13:22]<+camerongray> It started with a wallpaper
[13:22]<Tux2> lol camerongray
[13:22]<+camerongray> This one to be precise: http://www.wallchan.com/images/sandbox/21922-mlp-prism-my-little-pony-rainbow-dash.jpg
[13:23]<Tux2> that's a cool one
[13:23]<+camerongray> Then it spread to every computer in the room
[13:23]<@BC_programming> oh that old chestnut
[13:23]<@BC_programming> my wallpapers are better
[13:24]<@BC_programming> you should spread those instead
[13:24]<@BC_programming> because they have my url on them and then everybody will know about my awesomeness
[13:24]<+camerongray> lol
[13:24]<+camerongray> My friend (Who I do reviews with) likes photography so I use all his wallpapers
[13:24]<@BC_programming> http://bc-programming.com/images/other/mlp/wallpaper/fullres/
[13:24]<@BC_programming> DO IT
[13:25]<@BC_programming> I like my nightmare moon one myself. Tux helped with that one
[13:25]<+camerongray> B-B-B-BUT
[13:25]<@BC_programming> he made the moon
[13:25]<@BC_programming> the moon was a critical part of the composition
[13:25]<+camerongray> My friend will kill me if I remove is picture
[13:25]<+camerongray> Well, not really
[13:25]<+camerongray> But they are awesome!
[13:25]<@BC_programming> no he'll be like
[13:25]<@BC_programming> "WOW that guy is so much more awesome than I am"
[13:26]<@BC_programming> to which you will of course have to agree
[13:26]<Tux2> lol...
[13:26]<@BC_programming> there's a minecraft related one in there too haha
[13:26]<+camerongray> These are his: http://keiththomson.info
[13:27]<Tux2> Oh, BC_programming, I guess you should know... I submitted your wallpapers to equestria daily yesterday...
[13:27]<@BC_programming> oh... is that what you wanted the link for
[13:27]<@BC_programming> I was wondering what you wanted the link for, heh
[13:27]<Tux2> lol
[13:28]<+camerongray> lol - Sensation arrived and the last reviewer forgot to log out of twitter :P
[13:28]<@BC_programming> make them follow me
[13:29]<Tux2> lol
[13:29]<@BC_programming> then they can have some insightful tidbits such as "just ate a sandwich"
[13:29]<+camerongray> lol - Keith was nice and told him
[13:29]<@BC_programming> or "cut myself shaving"
[13:29]<@BC_programming> the second one was actually quite a trendsetter
[13:29]<+camerongray> Now I just need to get the phone off him tomorrow and film it
[13:29]<@BC_programming> or it would have been if I could retweet myself
[13:30]<+camerongray> Stupid thing is we go to different schools (I only go to his for computing on Tuesday and Thursday) so arranging stuff is difficult
[13:31]<+camerongray> And you WILL watch it and you WILL like it!
[13:31]<@BC_programming> that's what I've been telling you about MLP
[13:31]<@BC_programming> yet you resist
[13:32]<+camerongray> lol
[13:32]<+camerongray> But my reviews aren't pony related
[13:33]<Tux2> lol
[13:33]<@BC_programming> yes that presents something of an issue
[13:33]<+camerongray> And the intro is awesome!
[13:33]<@BC_programming> but also lacks ponies
[13:33]<+camerongray> It only cost £5 :P
[13:33]<@BC_programming> my intro was free
[13:33]<@BC_programming> because I made it
[13:33]<+camerongray> lol
[13:33]<+camerongray> http://fiverr.com/
[13:35]<+camerongray> It's actually a pretty handy site
[13:40]<@BC_programming> I love how when MLP comes up on a gaming forum it always turns into a flamewar with people saying that it's for little kids and stuff
[13:40]<@BC_programming> and yet...
[13:41]<@BC_programming> when it shows up here http://forums.thedailywtf.com/forums/t/24973.aspx
[13:41]<@BC_programming> the contrast is hilarious
[13:45]<@BC_programming> rendering new video showing the new hilarious Baseblock feature
[13:48]<Tux2> lol BC_programming, is that you under the name bc_programmer?

[14:25]<Tux2> Put it on the message board, I'll give some feedback and see what others say about it

[15:31]<Tux2> Ugh, another thermal shutdown...
[15:31]<@BC_programming> haha
[15:31]<Tux2> I guess it would have helped if I had thought to blow it out the first time...
[15:31]<Tux2> all this dust down here took a toll on the ventilation system of my laptop
[15:31]<@BC_programming> hmm went looking for coal
[15:31]<@BC_programming> found diamonds...
[15:31]<Tux2> nice!
[15:32]<@BC_programming> I have like 32 diamonds, not counting the tools I made
[15:32]<@BC_programming> and I can repair diamond stuff now, heh

[15:40]<cameron_touchpad> who?
[15:40]<@BC_programming> the creeper in the pic
[15:40]<Craig> Anyone know how to make a label for a DVD that wont send it off ballance...?
[15:40]<@BC_programming> http://bc-programming.com/images/creeps.png
[15:41]<@BC_programming> Craig: lightscribe? :P
[15:41]<cameron_touchpad> Use a full size one?
[15:41]<cameron_touchpad> Or lightscribe
[15:41]<Tux2> Craig, I use the premade ones with a CD stomper
[15:41]<cameron_touchpad> Or a label printer
[15:41]<Craig> :P Wow, 200 DVD Lightscrible labels... :S
[15:41]<Tux2> yeah, lightscribe also works
[15:41]<Tux2> lol...
[15:41]<cameron_touchpad> Or use a pen ;-)
[15:41]<@BC_programming> heh
[15:41]<Craig> But I need them all to be different and for all different movies...
[15:41]<Craig> converted from VHS to DVD
[15:41]<cameron_touchpad> Ahh
[15:41]<Tux2> lightscribe...
[15:42]<cameron_touchpad> I'd go full size label or pen
[15:42]<Tux2> althought that would probably take forever..
[15:42]<Craig> Lightscribe discs... not that cheap...
[15:42]<@BC_programming> yeah you'd probably need some sort of full size label if you want them in colour.
[15:42]<@BC_programming> and they take forever to "print"
[15:42]<cameron_touchpad> Yeh
[15:42]<@BC_programming> lightscribe I mean
[15:42]<Craig> Labels would put them off ballance and then the DVD wouldnt read in a normal DVD player.
[15:42]<Tux2> yeah... get yourself a kit with a cd stomper and labels, those things center them really good
[15:42]<Craig> Unless I write to the disc...
[15:42]<cameron_touchpad> I like LS but it does take a while and the discs are expensive
[15:42]<Craig> that doesnt work, tried it. Hahahaha
[15:43]<Craig> needs to be right on...
[15:43]<Tux2> :P
[15:43]<Tux2> I've done it soo many times... I guess I take more time...
[15:43]<Tux2> lol @ creeper
[15:44]<@BC_programming> it scared the crap out of me, strangely enough
[15:44]<Craig> Hahahaah Nice
[15:44]<Tux2> lol!
[15:44]<@BC_programming> then we had a staring contest
[15:44]<Tux2> Craig, might want to get a CD printer with those white label DVDs
[15:45]<Craig> I just added a cooler master 4in3 Harddrive shell to my tower., :) looks nice
[15:45]<Craig> Yeah thats what I was thinking, but I dont know where to get a nice 30 disc one of those printers...
[15:45]<Tux2> 30 disc?
[15:45]<Craig> well you can get ones that can automatically load the disc and print it.

[15:46]<Craig> Thats the Idea I want...
[15:46]<Tux2> You're making 30 copies of the same thing?
[15:46]<Craig> no
[15:46]<Craig> Just one copy but it has a spooler
[15:46]<Tux2> Oh, you want a duplication unit with a printer?
[15:46]<Craig> Nah,
[15:46]<Craig> its a printer dedicated to DVD's and CD's
[15:47]<Craig> it only prints one at a time, but it does the loading and unloading itself.
[15:47]<Tux2> ah...
[15:47]<Tux2> I myself wouldn't trust a printer not to pull 2 cds at a time

[15:48]<Craig> not if their blank
[15:48]<Craig> I can label them then burn them
[15:49]<Tux2> yeah... I was thinking you already burned them...
[15:49]<Craig> could do that too, doesnt matter I need to find a dedicated DVD printer. :P

[15:56]<Tux2> In usage I should say.
[15:56]<Craig> Nice
[15:56]<Tux2> Yeah, the guys that were renting the top floor from the university had one.
